Journeys Bookstore & Café is a new independent bookstore in Annandale.  We believe in the power of books to lead us to imagine, to urge us to discover new things and to encourage us to explore the world we live in.

We are located in a beautiful two-storey corner store in Annandale, built around 1890.  It's a perfect place for a bookstore, with polished floors, sash-windows and high ceilings lending character and warmth. 

Imagine is where you’ll find general fiction, prizewinners, children’s books and young adult fiction.

Upstairs in Discover (where you'll find science fiction  & fantasy, crime, biographies, politics and current affairs, religion, philosophy, science, sport, essays, poetry, dictionaries, art, design, photography, gardening, health and parenting) there's a great view of the city sky-line over the roof-tops of Annandale and Glebe.  Easy viewing from one of our comfy armchairs!

And if you’re interested in the world around you, then Explore is the place for you. Explore is divided into seven regions - Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, South America and Oceania.  Each region has travel guides, travel literature, fiction, history, food and other non-fiction titles about each country in that part of the world.

We've been working hard to ensure a great selection of titles, but if we haven't got the book you're after we are very happy to order it for you. 

Our opening hours are below, except public holidays when we are open from 10am until 4pm.
